Getting around in New York City, NY

There are numerous ways to easily get around in New York City. The Big Apple offers visitors a long list of choices, when it comes to getting around, but, the most poular mode of transportation is the public transit.

The mass transit in New York City is the most complex and extensive in North America and most of it runs 24 hours a day. Its subway system is the busiest in the Western Hemisphere, while Grand Central Terminal, also popularly referred to as `Grand Central Station`, is the world's largest railway station by number of platforms.

There are also many different bus lines, which provide a good alternative to the subway, identified by letter, followed by numbers, the letter indicating the borough in which the line operates - M for Manhattan, B for Brooklyn, S for Staten Island and Q for Queens.

Besides mass transit one can also walk, ride the bike or drive to get around in New York City, and, of course, there are also the city's famous yellow cabs. However, driving is not considered to be the best way to get around in the Big Apple, because the city often experiences heavy traffic and congestions.
